How to type in Hindi

How to type in Hindi

Valid for :
Operating System: Windows
Editor: Openoffice, Microsoft Word
हिंदी हमारी राष्ट्र भाषा है

I guess I should know atleast how to type hindi in our computers.
Recently I got some work related to local court and I have to rush to local computer guy and outsource him some work related to hindi typing.
I searched on net for hindi typing and I find one site(mentioned below in source list)
I followed the steps and I write this tutorial to help to those people who r used to pc and have enough gk related to it.

Ok so here are the steps:
1.download hindi fonts named “shusha” from here :
http://www.abhivyakti-hindi.org/abhi/shusha.ttf
2.paste it in c/windows/fonts
3.restart ur pc(restart is needed as I grappled few times as after paste I was unable to see these fonts in fonts list of editor)
4.after restart open ur editor.(i use openoffice as I found it free, plus it has free pdf convertor)
5.switch fonts from times new roman which everybody uses, to Shusha
6.now u can easily type hindi

Now how to type hindi:
Download keyboard of hindi from here
http://www.abhivyakti-hindi.org/abhi/shusha_keyboardplus_ss.jpg
You will notice that there is not much brain work is needed to remember hindi fonts .
Same sounding letters have same analogies from english and hindi
ह  needs h
प  needs p

Eg. If u want to type aap kaise hai
than press “aap” in english and u will start noticing hindi.
Eg. I type this in hindi:
आप कैसे है
सही बताऊ तो हिंदी मे टाइप  करना काफी आसान है
If you need short solutions for any language of world than try google translate.
http://translate.google.com/#; I used it for some chinese translation I needed in my project work.

another good thing is to use transliteration feature in blogger. it allows to use phonetic typing which indeed is the easiest way to type in any language for people that are used to type in english like me. you can have a look to help page if u r struck with this feature. http://www.google.com/support/blogger/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=58226
